It's dawn. It's 20 minutes before your alarm is set to drag you up and into the day. A feeling of excited anticipation creeps up your spine and your feet take you outside.
You realise the dawn will be orange and start walking towards the fields, where the view to the East is best.
Your forward momentum balances you as you skirt tufts of long grass while staring at the sky. You make it to the field on the edge of the forest as the sky bursts bright orange.
The breeze is light and smells fresh and a little cool.
No one knows where you are. You'll be back before anyone else wakes. It's just you, the sun and the fields. You turn towards the forest and take a deep breath.
It's past dusk. The sky has turned to thick ink. You are tired from the day but decide to glance up at the stars that you give you so much comfort.
Your breath catches in your throat as you see the moon. An off-white orb in a sea of black. A ghost of the morning's orange visible on her face.
She will trail through the skylike always. Sometimes noticed, sometimes not. Always alone. Does she long for the sun to be closer? Does she wish she never left him?
Perhaps both and neither are true.
You walk into the forest and smell the earth beneath your feet.
No one knows where you are now either. A shiver of excited anticipation shoots its way up your spine as you walk into the shadow of the trees.
